Hyemi Kang is an architect and educator with 15+ years of experience in the industry. Her professional journey includes valuable experiences at renowned firms such as Tesla, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), and Gensler. She has contributed to several notable projects, including the iconic Waldorf Astoria New York, the Moynihan Train Hall, and the JPMC HQ3. At Tesla, she was a crucial member of the leading team responsible for developing the charging infrastructure, furthering her commitment to sustainable and innovative design solutions.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Architecture and Fine Arts from the University of California, Davis. During her studies, she further expanded her architectural expertise at the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, participating in a distinguished graduate research studio.
Her work has garnered international recognition, including an exhibition at the Egyptian Pavilion during the Venice Biennale in 2016. She has had the privilege of teaching at the University of Pennsylvania and the University of California, Davis, where she currently helps students cultivate their design skills and understanding of architectural principles.
